NEW! 2010 License Renewal and Continuing Education Requirements

The Real Estate Commission is changing the staggered renewal periods for licensees to even-year renewal cycles with the transition beginning in 2010 - 2012.

For real estate licensees who are currently on a two-year renewal cycle, 2008 - 2010, nothing has been changed and they are expected to complete eight-hours of continuing education prior to June 30, 2010.

For real estate licensees who renewed May and June 2009 they were issued a one-year license with an expiration date of June 30, 2010. This annual license was issued to bring licensees to an even-year renewal cycle. For licensees on this one-year renewal cycle they will be required to accrue four (4) hours of continuing education prior to June 30, 2010.

The four hours of required continuing education may consist of any Commission approved continuing education course(s) (core and/or elective).

The goal of this transition is to have licensees on an even-year renewal cycle which will bring uniformity to the renewal and continuing education process.

The Real Estate Commission has gathered renewal information from licensee files in hopes of aiding individuals in determining the amount of continuing education due by June 30, 2010. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the licensee to confirm the accuracy of this information by previous financial records in their possession such as cancelled checks and statements associated with renewing, reinstating or reactivating their real estate license.
