Fee Schedule

Attention LLR Customers

LLR encourages the use of its online licensing services to issue licenses as quickly as possible to our clients. Starting May 15, 2011, a $25 service fee will be instituted for licensing services done in person rather than online.

No licenses are issued through the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. The commission licenses qualified harbor pilots for the Ports of Charleston, Georgetown and/or Little River. All applicants must be individually approved by the commission majority before they are placed into the apprenticeship program for training and qualification for licensure by the commission. The commission investigates complaints against licensees and takes appropriate action when necessary.

There is not a requirement for continuing education for pilots to maintain their licenses. However, there are medical and physical requirements that must be documented yearly by a physician for the pilots to maintain their licenses.

The S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is pleased to provide various publications in portable document format (PDF).
