Board Purpose

This Board enforces and coordinates federal and state laws governing the manufactured housing (mobile home) industry. The Board licenses all manufacturers, contractors, installers, repairers, retail dealerships, and salespersons that sell, or offer for sale, manufactured housing in the state.

The Board is the state administrative agency for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban development and is required to investigate and enforce federal manufactured housing construction and safety standards. Administrative staff receives and investigates consumer complaints against licensees. In the fiscal year 2007-2008, the number of licenses issued was one thousand thirty- one (1031). The board has received ninety-eight (98) HUD Manufactured Home Consumer Complaints. Sixty-two (62) HUD Manufactured Homes Inspected. Four (4) HUD Manufactured Homes Re-Inspected. Eighty-two(82) HUD Manufactured Home Complaints Resolved. Eighteen(18) Contractual Complaints Inspected/Investigated and Four (4) Contractual Complaints Resolved.
