A nursing home administrator must have 20 hours of continuing education with five hours in patient care. In order to reactivate an inactive license, an applicant must submit an application on a form approved by the board, along with the required fee, and proof of the  continuing educational requirements. In order to reactivate a retired license, an applicant must submit an application on a form approved by the board, along with the required fee, and proof of twenty (20) hours of continuing education during the previous twelve (12) months and six (6) hours of continuing education for every year the licensee has been retired. If the applicant has been retired for five (5) years or more, the board may require the applicant to pass an examination approved by the board.
