Board News
TIME TO RENEW! Individual landscape architect licenses and Certificates of Authorization expire on January 31, 2013. You may begin renewing online on November 5, 2012, for the period ending January 31, 2015.
Individuals must have ten hours of continuing education by January 31, 2013 unless you meet one of the exemption options. There is exemption information on the renewal notice that will be mailed in November. Please review the Frequently Asked Questions on this website before calling the Board office with questions.
If you are an individual landscape architect serving as a responsible landscape architect for a Certificate of Authorization, please note that you must renew your individual license prior to renewing the firm's Certificate of Authorization.
Paper renewal forms for individuals and Certificates of Authorization are available on this website, but we encourage you to use the online renewal process for faster renewal.

Individuals or businesses practicing in the following areas do not need a license through the Board: Horticulture, Nurserymen, General or Landscape Contractors, Landscape Services, Lawn Services, and Tree Services. If you are practicing in one of these areas, please contact the S.C. Association of Counties at 1-800-922-6081 to determine if you need a business permit through the county where you operate.
Attention LLR Customers
LLR encourages the use of its online licensing services to issue licenses as quickly as possible to our clients. Starting May 15, 2011, a $25 service fee will be instituted for licensing services done in person rather than online.
