All cosmetology, esthetician, nail technician and instructor licenses and renewals expire on March 10 of each year. All salon, booth renters, and school licenses and renewals expire on June 30th of each year. A person may have the license renewed for a two year period, by applying on forms provided by the Board within 30 days preceding or following the expiration of the license. Also required is proof of the required continuing education hours and payment of the renewal fee prescribed by the Board.
An individual whose license has been expired for at most three years may renew their license and resume practice by filing the application, paying of the required renewal fee and presenting satisfactory proof of his or her qualifications to resume practicing. An individual whose license has been expired for three years or more must pay the required fee and retake both the written and practical exams to have their license reinstated.
