Message To LLR Stakeholders About Regulatory Review Process

 

S.C. Board Members Represent Barbers at National Meeting

The South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners represented the State of South Carolina at the National Association of Barber Boards of America’s 86th Annual Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, September 16-21, 2012.

The mission of National Association of Barber Boards of America is to promote the exchange of information between barber boards and state agencies that examine, license and regulate the barber industry.

Board Chairman Paul E. Robinson, Jr. of Orangeburg, Vice Chairwoman Renee Patton of Inman, and Edwin Barnes of Lexington attended the conference, which focused on barber industry issues ranging from administration of regulations and statutes, developing standardsfor licensing and policing the barbering industry, testing, health concerns and the state of the industry.
Patton is 4th Vvce president of NABBA, and Edwin Barnes is a former president of NABBA and Barber Hall of Fame Recipient.

Representatives from 22 states also attended and participated in various focus groups to develop uniform standards and procedures for examining barbers.
