Qualifications for a License

To become licensed by reciprocity

1. Hold a current Certificate from NCARB and
2. Hold a current license to practice architecture in another state.

All applicants must apply on forms provided by the Board and pay the application fee of $190.

A Certificate of Registration from this Board issued to an architect entitles that person to assume the title of "Architect" and practice the profession of architecture in South Carolina. Practice in any other manner, such as a firm, business corporation, partnership, etc., requires additional registration.

Renewals

Individual licenses -- June 30 biennially

Firm licenses -- August 31 biennially

Continuing Education

24 hours of continuing education (all in HSW) must have been completed for license renewal.
