The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) mission is to promote the health, safety and economic well-being of the public through regulation, licensing, enforcement, training and education. Director Holly Pisarik
South Carolina and federal laws are the source of various rights employers and employees have in their employer/employee relationships. LLR is one of several state and federal agencies, which administers the laws assuring these rights. Occupational safety, payment of wages, child labor, migrant labor and mediation of disputes between unions and businesses all fall under LLR. Elevators and amusement rides also are regulated to assure the public's safety. Learn more about Labor Programs
While developing the 2013 Accountancy Board renewal notices, a formatting error occurred, causing the number of CPE credit hours for some licensees to be reported inaccurately. This error affected licensees who had partial hour credit in their CPE carryover balance. For example, if you have 1.5 partial CPE carryover hours, your renewal notice says you have 15 hours because the formatting error dropped the decimal point. To make sure licensees know their correct CPE carryover balance, the Board mailed corrected notices on November 9, 2012, to those licensees affected.
