Fire Marshal Policy Memos

The Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Policy Memos have been rescinded and removed from the Web site. The removal of the OSFM Policy Memos on September 1, 2009, coincided with the implementation date of the new State Fire Marshal’s Rules and Regulations. To avoid obsolete, contradictory or unenforceable policy memorandums in the future, the OSFM will respond to inquiries with decisions based upon the current adopted codes, standards, regulations and statutes as posted on the OSFM Web site. The OSFM trusts that this change will improve consistency and reduce confusion of code enforcement personnel, builders, developers and the design professional throughout the state.
