Pat Hanks

Pat Hanks, Chief Disciplinary Counsel, has worked in the Office of Disciplinary Counsel since coming to the S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in 1995. Prior to LLR, Pat worked as a law clerk for the McNair Law Firm, served as a Judge Advocate in Norfolk, Virginia, and worked for the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.

While at LLR, Pat also has served as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law at Aiken Technical College. Pat continues his service to the Judge Advocate General Corps through his association with the U.S. Army Reserves and was selected to the rank of Colonel in October of 2014.

Pat earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina, is a graduate of the United States Army War College, and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. Pat is also a graduate of the Naval Officer Indoctrination School, NTC Newport RI; US Naval Justice School, RTC Newport, RI; the Army Judge Advocate Advanced Course, Charlottesville, VA; and the US Army Command and General’s Staff College, Fort Leavenworth. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Phi Eta Sigma, and Phi Beta Lambda.
