Dean Grigg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before attending law school, Dean worked in sports administration. Dean received his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and upon graduation, entered private practice. After three years focusing on creditors' rights, he joined the Attorney General's Office. For four years, Dean represented the State in criminal appeals, illegal gaming, extraditions, and post conviction relief matters. In 2009, Dean joined the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation as Advice Counsel, advising the boards on legal matters, drafting legislation, and testifying before various subcommittees regarding regulations. Since 2012, Dean has been the Deputy Director of the agency's Professional and Occupational Licensing Division, overseeing both the boards and the investigation unit.
