2012 OSHA Safety Awards Applications Available

The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation would like to invite you to participate in the 2012 Safety Achievement Awards program. The program recognizes a firm’s efforts to reduce recordable occupational injuries and illnesses during the past year.

The program is open to any employer with an average of 100 or more employees. Awards are presented in four categories:

• No recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2012;
• A reduction of at least 40 percent in an employer’s incidence rate between 2011 and 2012;
• A difference of at least 75 percent in an employer’s 2012 incidence rate and the 2011 South Carolina average rate for that industry.
• Worked one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness.
